Sea Iroise

The cottages are named Kerscao islands of the sea from Oceanopolis, corresponding to the part of the Atlantic Ocean extending from the island of Sein (Enez Sun in Breton) to the island of Ushant (Enez Eusa in Breton).

This sea is known as one of the most dangerous in Europe. Indeed, it is continually driven by strong currents and numerous reefs mostly emerged at low tide, making navigation difficult. But it is also considered one of the richest in biodiversity, which has motivated its classification as a biosphere reserve by UNESCO in 1988 and as first marine park in France in October 2007.

The Iroise is bordered by a coastline alternating beaches, cliffs, dunes and estuaries, such as estuaries found north. But it is mostly dotted with rocks, islets and islands, which can be isolated as the island of Sein or grouped as those of the Molène archipelago. The Iroise de France is the place where the density of lights is the most important.

  • Lighthouse Pointe Saint-Mathieu
  • Kermorvan lighthouse at the tip of the peninsula of the same name

  • The headlights and Créac'h Stiff on the island of Ushant
